Immune System Boosting BCAA Smoothie

 

If you’re looking for a way to make your new daily routine a little more interesting then here’s a refreshing, immune boosting smoothie for you to try. It's nice and simple, all you’ll need is a blender, the rest of the ingredients you’re likely to have at home.

This smoothie includes our Apple BCAAs and you can also add our Collagen for an extra boost for your skin, hair and nails.

Why Have We Included BCAAs?

In brief, BCAAs are essential amino acids, they make up one third of the protein found in our muscle tissue and yet we do not produce them naturally. This is why they’re known as ‘essential’ - it is essential that we get them from our food sources.

Since BCAAs are the amino acids that are broken down in the muscle directly (not metabolised by the liver) they give your muscles a healthy amount of energy fro exercise and support protein synthesis (muscle building).

Despite all their other benefits today we’re focussing on their positive effects on our immune system. If you’re smashing your home workouts and daily runs then repeated exercise like this can lead to fatigue and immune suppression. Not ideal! Research has shown that BCAAs are used by your immune cells within the gut as fuel. This means your immune system can regenerate more efficiently and therefore protect you more effectively against harmful pathogens.

Ingredients
We’ve kept this as simple as possible. All you need is:
100ml of Water (this one is up to you, add more water if you’d like a less thick smoothie)
2 cups/handfuls of Spinach
1/2 An Apple
4 x Mint Leaves
1 Serving Of Supreme Apple BCAAs
1/2 a Frozen Banana

 

Extra
Add a serving of collagen too for those extra benefits
Instructions
Couldn’t be easier! Mix it all in a blender and add a few ice cubes to thicken and freshen it up.
